I plan on making you very hungry and more popular with your friends and family by sharing delicious recipes, fun party themes, and great ways to make the people you love feel special. It’s my goal to make you want to cook and entertain more often with your loved ones.
I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t in the kitchen cooking, chopping, or learning how to blend spices. When I think about it, I’ve been groomed to be the best hostess by my grandmother since I was in grade school. She cooked delicious food and made everyone who interacted with her feel special. Often, it was she who reminded me that people will always remember how you made them feel.
Outside of being a blogger, I’m a full-time banker. For a while, I was on medical leave from work due to a back injury. Within that timeframe, I was mostly formulating recipes and planning parties. When it came time for me to return to work, my love for hosting, cooking and party planning had taken over –– it was all I could think about. So with the encouragement of my family and friends, I set up an Instagram account under the name @HouseShoeHostess, where I post pictures, videos, and recipes of the type of dishes I make on a day-to-day basis.
My cooking style can be described as Down Home cooking –– the type of cooking your grandma would do if she had all of the fresh ingredients and flavors we have access to now. Through my hosting, I strive for that homestead feeling of comfort where you’re able to unwind with good food, even better wine, and great conversation.”
