The Dallas Foot & Ankle Fellowship was founded by Dr. James W. Brodsky in association with Baylor University Medical Center in 1991. This one-year surgical fellowship program is an excellent opportunity for surgical residents to learn foot and ankle surgery techniques from four highly-respected and skilled surgeons.

Fellowship Length: The Dallas Foot & Ankle Fellowship is a one-year program that begins August 1 of each year and completes July 30 the following year.

Educators: Dr. James W. Brodsky, renowned surgeon, author, educator, and speaker is the Director of the Dallas Foot & Ankle Fellowship program. The program was initiated in 1991 and accredited by ACGME in 2007. Three fellows are accepted into the program annually to learn foot & ankle surgical skills from Dr. Brodsky and his three partners; Dr. Jacob Zide, Dr. Christian Royer, and Dr. Babu Reddy. Each Fellow has the opportunity to spend four months with Drs. Brodsky and Royer, and two months each with Drs. Zide and Reddy.

Location:The primary office for Orthopedic Associates of Dallas is on Junius Street in downtown Dallas adjacent to Baylor University Medical Center. The group also maintains clinics in Plano, Frisco, and McKinney. Dallas has a population exceeding 1.3 million. The 13-county Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex has a population of 6.8 million and is the 7th largest metro area in the United States. The metroplex is considered the commercial and cultural hub of the region, and is the home of multiple professional sports teams. World renowned museums and art centers bring outstanding quality cultural activities to the area. A plethora of restaurants make dieting a difficult prospect.

Research Opportunities:Dallas Foot & Ankle Fellows participate in research throughout their year with Orthopedic Associates of Dallas. Fellows are encouraged to identify areas of interest and curiosity to help create new projects of interest and value to the team.

Hospital Affiliations:The Dallas Foot & Ankle Fellowship is affiliated with Baylor University Medical Center. The association provides the fellows an opportunity to teach residents and share their clinical experience. Fellows also have the opportunity to participate in surgeries at Baylor Uptown, Baylor Frisco, Baylor Plano, Baylor McKinney, Baylor Surgicare at Dallas, and Baylor Surgicare at Plano Alliance.
